John Benjamin Donald Sr, and most of the Donald Family of Panola County, Texas are interred at Antioch Cemetery near Carthage, Texas and in cemeteries in the immediate area. The death certificate from John B Donald Sr. indicates his father was Rufus H Donald of Alabama, and his mothers maiden name was Ables from Mississippi. Census records confirm this to be the Rufus H Donald referred to in this link to Donald Family First Generation as prepared by Susan Ellis. This document lists Rufus father as Elijah Donald. which has been confirmed by census records. Some of the artifacts shows on that page were the property of John B Donald Sr and his wife Francis. They first appear in Texas on the Panola County Census of 1900. Prior to that the appear in Little River Arkansas on the 1880 Census. Clearly they immigrated to Texas between 1880 and 1900, but details of that relocation have not yet been confirmed. |
